Zach Galifianakis On SNL With Vampire Weekend:Saturday Night Live Season 35 Episode 16 S35E16 – The Hangover’s actor Zach Galifianakis had hosting duties of SNL/Saturday Night Live this evening with the Vampire Weekend as musical guests. So did Galifianakis deliver? Here is a recap of the episode.

Cold Open: Obama Speech- So basically Obama with Reid and Pelosi stood there with zero jokes talking about health care and the upcoming races in Nevada and San Francisco. The whole thing failed miserable.

Monologue: Zach Galifianakis – the Bored to Death star talked about himself using few racist/sexist jokes.Using the piano was a smart idea but this monologue will not go down as a classic.

Overly-affectionate Vogelcheck Funeral: – James Franco did this sketch already about a family who kissed way too often. No matter how you looked at the skit -it was simply shocking and disturbing.

The Bidet: they heavily relied on the comedians using one word “bidet” to make us laugh. Not sure the fact of repeating a term over and over is really creative.

Zack Drops by the Set/Zack On TV for Over 30 Years: it was a very simple sketch where Zach Galifianakis appeared behind Brian Williams, he was also on the set of Dr. Oz, he showed up on the set of 30 Rock ,made an appearance on Law & Order, and we even saw a young Zach 6 or 7 years of age with a hilarious beard in the audience of SNL thirty years ago.It was one of the best skits of the night.

TODAY Show: Kathie Lee and Hoda fought as usual but what made this skit memorable was the continuing of the previous sketch with Galifianakis making an appearance in the window to stalk Hoda. The Twitter live idea was a nice addition.

Musical Guest: Vampire Weekend did a pretty job performing their songs “Cousins” and “Giving Up the Gun” especially with the complete band behind.Their new album, “Contra” is available now.

Weekend Update: compared to the last two episodes of SNL,this one was a let down. However Kenan’s Mo’nique’s Oscar speech and Forte’s “Herstory” song were two clever pieces.

What Up With That?: it was a pretty hilarious sketch where Frank Rich was the guest/victim of Kenan’s constant singing.

The Situation Room: this sketch was very hilarious but after watching it,we started wondering-has CNN been airing so much unchecked/unscreened/unverified infos coming from various social media lately? If yes,we need to tune in to Wolf more often.

Pageant Talk: this was a really bad way to end the show- this skit was useless.Despite Galifianakis’ wacky humor and him sacrificing his weird beard for the last skit,it was overall a very bad installment of SNL.What are your thoughts on the episode?
That’s all we have for now on Zach Galifianakis.
