WWE SmackDown 2/18/11 Results

Here are the results for WWE SmackDown 2/18/11’s edition which was the show’s 600th episode.

With a little bit more than a month to go until WWE WrestleMania XXVII, it was more than normal that we got a very interesting installment of Friday Night SmackDown.

Last night we learned that Ziggler was named the new World Heavyweight Champion, Edge will be fired and this weeks fights would include fighters such as Edge, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, John Cena, John Morrison vs R-Truth. Kane, CM Punk etc.

Here is a brief recap of the five matches that took place this week:

Match 1: Edge, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, John Morrison, R-Truth versus Kane and Cena, CM Punk, King Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett, and Drew McIntyre.
A very heated brawl where Edge, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, John Morrison, R-Truth were able to defeat Kane and Cena, CM Punk, King Sheamus, Dolph Ziggler, Wade Barrett, and Drew McIntyre thanks to Mysterio who found an interesting way to use a double 619 on Ziggler for the victory.

After the match Edge and Vickie Guerrero trashed it out and she shocked the world by announcing that Dolph Ziggler had been proclaimed the new World Heavyweight Champion.
Vickie went on to reveal that Edge will soon lose his job.

Match 2: Maryse and Layla Eve Torres versus Beth Phoenix .
This was a very short fight where Maryse and Layla Eve Torres defeated Beth Phoenix by cheating with McCool.

Match 3:The Miz versus Kofi Kingston
This was definitely not the best fight of night .
The brawl ended with The Miz defeating Kofi Kingston using the Skull Crushing thanks to the fact that the latter was distracted by ADR (Alberto Del Rio).

Match 4:Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov Heath versus Slater and Justin Gabriel
Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov Heath who defended their titles against Slater and Justin Gabriel won the match via DQ.
The match was followed by Big Show announcing the coronation of Ziggler.
Teddy Long later on appeared ring side to reveal that the next fight was going to be between Dolph Ziggler and Edge.

Match 5: Dolph Ziggler versus Edge
Edge was declared the World Heavyweight Championship and Teddy announced that Ziggler was fired.
