Walking Dead AMC – The apocalyptic series called “The Walking Dead” in which stars Andrew Lincoln (“Love Actually”) and Sarah Wayne Callies (“Prison Break”) premiered this Halloween weekend with a pilot episode called “Days Gone Bye” directed/written by Frank Darabont.
The AMC series which focuses on the survival of a family and a small group of people in a world full of zombies has been rumored to be one of the best of the season.
The project is directed by Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption”, 1994), nominated for three Oscars, who fell in love with the graphic novel “The Walking Dead” by Robert Kirkman that he accidentally discovered in a bookstore.
Darabont first thought of turning the stories into a movie but eventually opted to use the disturbing novel for a TV series.
The production, which is consisted of 6 one-hour episodes premiered at 10 pm this Sunday, October 31st on the AMC channel and on 5 November it will be broadcast on Fox in 120 countries and 33 languages.
“Days Gone Bye” chronicles the hardships that Sheriff’s Deputy Rick Grimes must go through after emerging from a coma and learning that his son and wife have vanished.
On his path to finding his love ones Deputy Rick meets a group of people who survived some kind cataclysm that has hit Earth and triggered most humans ti mutate into zombies.
The episode was very dramatic, intriguing and brought a bit of a freshness to the traditional zombie apocalyptic stories that we normally watch in movies and on TV.
