Undercover Boss season 2 episode 4 called “Frontier Airlines” which featured Bryan Bedford aired last night on CBS and he was able to redefine the term screw up- because he failed at every single task that was given to him.
This week while working under cover on the company’s front lines, Frontier Airlines CEO Bryan Bedford aka Richard was asked to clean a plane’s lavatory, he contributed to a flight’s late departure and he discovered how the 10% pay cuts are impacting employees’ lives- he did all of this while providing the audience and his employees with some serious laughter.
Bryan Bedford, who has been the CEO of Frontier Airlines parent company, Republic Airways, for 11 long years was first sent out to Denver where he met Sue and was told that he had to clean the aircraft in less than 7 minutes. He was unsuccessful which pushed Sue to scream at him at some point.
By the way Sue had an aircraft was dedicated to the memory of her son and she was presented with tickets for a cruise trip with her granddaughter.
The father of eight was later send out to Will Rogers World Airport in Oklahoma City, where he was trained as a cross-utilization agent and was asked to work with Valerie. His tasks were to marshal in a plane, pull luggage from one plane and put them on another, then run back inside to check in more passengers.Once more he failed by forgetting to count the bags and by complaining that it was too hard and that he was sweating too much.
However it was very touching to see how inspired Bryan was by Valerie’s faith.
By the way a donation of $10,000 was made to one of Valerie’s favorite charities.
The top executive later worked as a flight attendant with a Hawaiian named Tui.
Bryan learned the hard way that he should not be talking too much with the passengers.
Tui was made chairman of a branding committee and was given $20,000 for his children’s college educations.
Last but not least we met Hector and Bryan was told that they had to clean up poop as lavatory services employees.
Fun facts an airline goes through 1,400 gallons of poo per day and bosses are terrible employees because they screw every job they are given.
Anyway Hector was given a forum for him to talk to newbies about how to do the job and was awarded a one week vacation with his wife.
