It appears as though there can be too much of a good thing—which is why star Kyra Sedgwick has decided to say goodbye to her television series “The Closer”. The show, which is hosted on TNT, has recently announced that they will begin filming their final season for 2011, a decision that was made by Sedgwick.
Although the show was extremely successful throughout it’s seven seasons, it seems that Sedgwick has decided that she doesn’t want to risk jeopardizing the good reputation of the show by continuing on too long.
When making a statement about the series ending, Sedgwick said, “I cannot fathom how difficult it will be to say goodbye to the incredible family we’ve created on “The Closer”.
The show was a turning point for TNT, bringing in great ratings and even better reviews. Steve Koonin is the president of TNT, and he made a statement about the ending of the series, saying, “’The Closer’ was a pivotal series in setting a new course for TNT’s original programming, while also serving as a prime example of the storytelling strength possible on cable television.”
The 15-show season will begin production next spring.*Sponsored Links*
