Steve Carell Leaving The Office:Michael Scott NBC Exit – Steve Carell is undoubtedly the biggest name on “The Office.” Surely, if he were to part from the show it would come crumbling down. Continuing The Office without Steve Carell would be a disgrace to the very comedy that Steve originated. Rumors of Steve leaving the show have transpired for several months now and up to this point we haven’t had a definite answer of when he will be leaving. The information we have gathered is that Steve doesn’t want to continue with the show forever which is understandable. The Office has been providing enjoyable humor for all its fans for 7 seasons now. However, Steve has finally confirmed that he will indeed be leaving after the 2010 season.
Steve told E! News after Sunday nights premiere of his movie “Despicable Me,” “I just thought it was time for my character to go.” Whether this means that the television network will attempt to continue the show beyond this point, we’re still unsure. Carell seems to think that it will though, probably not trying to take credit for the huge credit that his character gave to the show. Steve told reports that he expects “The Office” will be able to survive without him. Carell had signed into a contract tying him down to 7 full length seasons of The Office. In May that very contract will expire and Steve will not be renewing the agreement any further.
“It’s just one part of that ensemble drifting off. They’ve incorporated so many new characters and so many new, great storylines that I have no doubt it’ll continue as strong, if not stronger, than ever.”
Steve Carell was nominated for several awards for “The Office” and his achievements on the NBC series.
