So You Think You Can Dance Finale 2010: SYTYCD Winner Lauren Froderman – Lauren Froderman is the winner of “So You Think You Can Dance” but then again we all knew it would go that way.Kent Boyd came in second, and Robert Roldan was the third-place finisher.
During the soiree we also witnessed a mad and wild performance by Ellen DeGeneres doing Alex’s routine.
The “So You Think You Can Dance” finals have come and gone, and the top three, Robert Roldan, Lauren Froderman and Kent Boyd duked it out for this season’s crown. Each had a pair of choreographers who gave the dancers their own time to shine and show off their dancing ability. Each of them did four routines and one solo routine to secure their spot as the best dancer in the competition.
Roldan’s “West Side Story” jazz number impressed the judges quite a bit. He seemed to be very strong in all categories, and at one point the judges got up and started dancing. Adam Shankman tried to mimic the moves that he saw on stage.
Judge Nigel Lythgoe said that Robert may give Kent a run for the title with his excellent performance on the final episode. He was also called the most improved dancer in the competition. Froderman also had a strong night, dancing a hip hop number that was choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon D’Umo, two much respected choreographers. Lythgoe said that the performance was “transfixing,” and that he was very impressed.
Kent had the opportunity to seal the deal. The competition was his to win, but the judges said that he did not have the best performance of the night, but that he still performed very well. Shankman said that he had delivered the “feel good dance of the season,” but was it enough?
Viewers will be casting votes tonight to decide the winner, who will be receiving $250,000.
