SMA:SMA Disease,Akers Family Extreme Makeover – Extreme Makeover, Home Edition had an episode called Akers’ Home Fit For Angels that aired tonight on ABC.The Akers family has a son and father both suffer from Crohn’s Disease and two daughters who suffer from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) for which there is no cure. Their new home, was completely redesigned so their wheelchairs can have easy access in the entire house.
