Shark Week:Shark Week 2010 Schedule for August – Shark Week begins on the first of August, and is an eagerly awaited event for many people. The Discovery Channel even declared that it is “the most wonderful time of the year!” cue the “Jaws” theme song now, because this year is sure to be filled with tons of new footage and great action.
Many Discovery fans were feeling drained after the season finale Phil Harris tribute of “Deadliest Catch,” and can now shift their attention toward shark week. The week will kick off with “Ultimate Air Jaws” which features a number of huge great white sharks exploding from the water to attack their unknowing pray.
Videographers have been experimenting with new techniques to figure out how they can best capture the beats while they are in flight. It will definitely be an interesting opening to Shark Week, which is an event that is highly anticipated.
On Sunday, “Into the Shark Bite,” will come on just after Air Jaws airs. Discovery will take a close up view of the shark’s bite, and will examine exactly how they have evolved to best hunt their pray. Shark expert Mark Addison and underwater cameraman Andy Casagrande will be filming, and will show you exactly what a shark bite looks like from inside the shark’s mouth. It won’t be the first time that it has been done, but it will be the first time that they have dedicated an entire show to filming just the bite of a shark. It will be an interesting week for anyone who enjoys watching nature footage.
