Scarlett Johansson & Arcade Fire On SNL Season 36 Episode 6 – Saturday Night Live/SNL Season 36, Episode 6 which featured Scarlett Johansson and “Arcade Fire” as music guests aired last night on NBC.
We know that Scarlett Johansson is talented but does she have what it takes to makes us laugh in a dozen skits? Let us find out.
Here is a brief presentation of the episode:
Cold Open: G-20
This skit was pretty funny but it was extremely realistic which pushes us to say that the Democratic party should have been listening and taking notes on how to actually repay China.
Monologue: Scarlett Johansson:”Whatever Happened to Class”
After revealing that she has nothing to promote, the actress breaks into a song where she enumarates all that is wrong with young Hollywood girls .
MTV: Maternity Television:
Another realistic skit that depicts what MTV has turned into.
The Millionaire Matchmaker:
Johansson’ Patti Stanger kept on saying shut up while helping a desperate millionaire who had no luck with men.
This was not best we have seen from SNL.
The Manuel Ortiz Show:
This old skit still makes you laugh thanks to the crazy dancing but the dialogues are really terrible.
Jay Pharoah took on Denzel Washington again while Taran Killam became Chris Pine on a train that is about to kill millions of people- but the duo just can not stop it because they are busy fighting about age differences.
This is another recycled skit that is starting to lose its magic.
However it is always nice to see Wiig getting soda thrown on her.
Musical Guest: Arcade Fire :
There was nothing spectacular here ,well at least we now know that they have a song called “We Used to Wait”.
Weekend Update :
First we hear a terrible and unfunny story about how Gladys had a horrible experience on the Carnival Cruise.
Then we were treated to a non laughable session with George W. Bush and Kanye West.
St. Katherine’s Middle School:
Thanks to Kenan Thompson, this was the best piece of the night.
SNL Digital Short: What Was That?
This week’s Digital Short was just awful.
Paula Deen’s Big Ol’ Soakems:
Kristen Wiig did a brilliant job as Paula Deen, it would be nice to see her more often playing new characters.
Stars of Tomorrow:
A skit about two eleven year old girls getting the lead roles in “A Raisin in the Sun” and “Brokeback Mountain.”
How unfunny is that?
This looks old and weird.
We have come to the conclusion that SNL has lost it magic and will never produce a funny and memorable skit unless they get new writers and bring back Tina Fey.
What are your thoughts on the episode?
That’s all we have for now on SNL season 36 episode 6.*Sponsored Links*
