Rick Sanchez CNN Firing Mocked By Jon Stewart & David Letterman – Rick Sanchez, who recently called Jon Stewart a “bigot” during a radio broadcast then subsequently lost his job with CNN has become the butt of a number of jokes at an Autism benefit that were made by Hon Stewart and David Letterman.
The entire event was hosted by Stewart, who has kept mostly silent about the incident since it took place. The event, aptly named “Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Concert for Autism Education,” was hosted in a theater in New York City. He made several references to the Sanchez controversy throughout the incident.
When he was talking about donating to autism education and raising awareness about the disease, he stated “If you went on radio and said that Jews control the media, you may want to hold on to your money.”
The comments that were made by Sanchez regarding Stewart and Jewish people were obviously out of line. Almost immediately after the comments were made, Keith Olbermann took to Twitter to suggest that perhaps Sanchez would be fired. He had also attacked the MSNBC network, comparing them to FOX News in the way that they obviously lean to one political side. As it turns out, Olbermann was right and Sanchez lost his job after the comments were made. It will be interesting to see where he lands now that he has tarnished his name.
