Rachelle Lefevre Joins Off the Map New ABC TV Show – Rachelle Lefevre of “Twilight” will be joining the cast of the ABC series “Off The Map,” according to a number of recent reports. The show will be a medical drama that will be produced by the creator of “Grey’s Anatomy” Shonda Rhimes.
She will be playing Eva, who is “a free spirited missionary doctor” who apparently specializes in international medicine. This serves as another example of a Hollywood-established star heading back to television to star in a leading role. We have seen this in a number of other shows including Lawrence Fishburne joining the cast of “CSI.”
Neither Lefevre nor ABC have commented on the report.
The premise of the show is that the doctors work in an understaffed clinic in a small town in South America. They will likely deal with a number of issues and diseases that do not normally get addressed in other American-based hospital dramas.
Lefevre’s character who worked in a clinic before, but was forced to leave because she had a troubled romantic history with the person who operated the clinic.
She will be starring alongside Caroline Dhavernas, Enrique Murciano and Mamie Gummer. It will be interesting to see her move from the big screen to the small screen. Hopefully her show will be a success for both her and the network. After starring in the first two “Twilight” films as the evil vampire Victoria, having her name attached to anything serves as a boost.
