Oprah’s Next Chapter:Oprah Evening Show On OWN

Oprah’s Next Chapter:Oprah Evening Show On OWN – It appears as if Oprah knows what her next move will be when her highly popular Oprah Winfrey Show comes to an end. Sam Schechner of the Wall Street Journal recently reported that Oprah will be hosting her own evening show on her own television network, the Oprah Winfrey Network. The announcement comes after a recent article by New York Magazine that questioned how much Oprah herself would be appearing on the television network. The answer seems to be “a lot.” Her long running day time talk show will finally be leaving the air waves in 2011.

Reportedly, her new show will be entitled “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” The show will not be a talk show as her previous show was, but instead will show Oprah traveling the world to exotic locations with celebrity friends. Oprah will reportedly be bringing the audiences, which have been an integral part of her show since she first started, along with her on her travels. Locations that Oprah will reportedly be visiting include Egypt and China.
“I’m going to take viewers with me, going to take celebrities I want to interview with me,” Oprah said to the Wall Street Journal. Dubbed the “Queen of Day Time TV,” Oprah has apparently set her sights on bigger and higher obstacles. It is not clear how often “Oprah’s Next Chapter”, but some have speculated that the show may only run once a week, which differs from her current show with appears daily.
The series is currently scheduled to make its premiere toward the end of 2011, just after her contractual agreements with her last show come to a close. The new television network is a joint venture between Oprah’s Harpo Inc. and Discovery Communications Inc. Oprah is expected to announce her plans on Thursday.
