It has recently been revealed that Oprah has a huge family secret. Oprah has a half-sister named Patricia. Oprah and Patricia were reunited on Oprah’s show on Monday.
Patricia was given up for adoption in 1963. Oprah’s mother, Vernita Lee, managed to keep the secret from Oprah, who was nine years old at the time.
How did Patricia come to the conclusion that she was the sister of the famous Oprah Winfrey? Patricia saw an interview of Vernita Lee on television. Patricia only knew a little bit about her birth, but was able to connect what she did know with the information provided by Lee.
Patricia had previously tried to track down her mother, but was told by the adoption agency that her real mother did not want to get in contact with her. Acting on her feelings following Lee’s television interview, Patricia decided to track down Oprah’s niece.
DNA tests confirmed that Patricia was related to Oprah’s niece. As such, Oprah then confronted her mother, who confirmed the fact that Patricia was her half sister. Oprah’s mother also appeared on Oprah’s show on Monday.
The show showed a video of Oprah and her partner, Steadman Graham, driving to Milwaukee last Thanksgiving, where they met Patricia for the first time.*Sponsored Links*
