My Generation TV Show – My Generation ABC TV Series Season Premiere – ‘My Generation’ season 1 episode 1 which was was created, written and executive produced by Noah Hawley,Warren Littlefield, Henrik Bastin, Peter Magnusson and Martin Persson on the ABC network this evening.
“My Generation” is a mockumentary television series about young adulthood and becoming the person that your parents hoped that you would. The show which stars Michael Stahl David as Steven, Kelli Garner as Dawn, Jaime King as Jacqueline, Keir O’Donnell as Kenneth, Sebastian Sozzi as Falcon, Mechad Brooks as Rolly, Anne Son as Caroline, Daniella Alonso as Brenda and Julian Morris as Anders.is very endearing, and covers a range of topics that would be relevant to young people today, but definitely will require some time to mature before it finds a large audience.
The show followed nine students who are graduating Greenbelt High School (although as is commonplace in TV, they appear to be much older than high school age.) Upon graduating, they are filmed for a documentary in 2000, and then are filmed again a decade later. The cameras are back to look at the progress that they have made, the dreams that they have been able to reach and the lessons that they have learned.
The coming of age show follows the students as they attempt to find their way in the world. Some of them will change their lifestyle completely and almost look like a new person, while others will be relatively the same, just in a new setting.
The pilot does feel a bit manufactured at times, but is well intentioned. Sometimes the heart felt moments feel like they have been setup or are not genuine, but that can mostly be attributed to the cliché background music that is used throughout the show. Overall, it is a good watch and shows you what driven individuals can accomplish in only ten years.
What are your thoughts on the pilot?
