Lone Star Cancelled? New Fox TV Show Already Facing Cancellation – The U.S. entertainment industry is a fickle industry, which can chew up and spit out anyone and everyone, and it has a tendency to leave itself in situations it would rather not be in. The latest casualty in the world of the television series looks to be Fox’s new show ‘Lone Star’, which despite being one of the critics favourite shows, flopped on its premiere Monday, getting only 4.1 millions viewers. That is compared to ‘Dancing With The Stars’, which saw 21.3 million tune in.
Lone Star is facing the death sentence, however it has been given one more week by Fox, to see if the show can find an audience. However, it does not look good at all for the series which found critical praise for its originality.
“Those are Friday night numbers on a Monday night premiere,” Brad Adgate, a veteran TV analyst with Horizon Media, told The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s a nice cable audience.”
According to one agent, this doesn’t look good for the future of television, as, in his mind, it may be signalling an end for creative and new shows to break ground and spark interest in television watchers.
“No one in TV should be happy about this,” one agent who represents a writer on the show told THR. “This is going to have a chilling effect on networks taking chances on anything but cookie-cutter shows.”*Sponsored Links*
