When singer Chris Medina competed on American Idol it’s more than just for his own dreams of fame.
Medina is performing for his fiancée Juliana Ramos who suffered serious brain injuries in a car accident a couple of weeks before their planned wedding.
Medina is a 26-year-old barista who now shares full-time caretaker responsibilities with Ramos’ mother. Ramos attended American Idol filming where she watched, at times shaking, in the wheelchair where she is now confined. The couple has been engaged since 2007.
“Through thick and thin, till death do us part, in sickness and in health, for better and for worse. What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me most,” Medina said.
After a heart-felt performance of The Script’s “Breakeven (Falling to Pieces)” that super charged the audience, Aerosmith front man and American Idol judge Steven Tyler whispered to Ramos, “That’s why he sings so good, because he sings to you.”
On Wednesday, The Script’s guitarist Mark Sheehan tweeted this: ““Chris Medina: Not only R U a major talent but U R 1 in a billion! Stay Strong, Never waiver, this world needs more MEN like U.”
Medina easily got the three votes needed to go to Hollywood for the next round of American Idol.*Sponsored Links*
