Saturday Night Live/SNL – Season 36, Episode 10 – which was hosted by Jeff Bridges and featured Eminem and Lil Wayne as musical guests aired over the week on NBC.
We know that Jeff is talented but is he funny?
Let us break down the episode that was full of surprises to find out.
White House Christmas Cold Open:
We had a wordless “Cold Open” where Democrats including President Obama,Hillary Clinton,Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden could be seen dreaming of a better 2010.
For example Obama was hoping for unemployment to drop to 5% while Biden was praying to switch jobs with Batman.
It was quite funny.
Monologue: Jeff Bridges:
There is no much to say about the monologue other than the fact that Cookie Monster made an appearance worth remembering.
A Message From Mark Zuckerberg:
Andy Samberg took on Mark Zuckerberg once more and was about to talk about Facebook when he was interrupted by WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Assange who was angry by the fact that despite his impressive resume the young internet mogul managed to steal the 2010 Time Person of the Year title away from him sure made us laugh.
The Miley Cyrus Show:
Miley Cyrus and her annoying voice came back with a brand new episode of her pretty cool show to address her drug scandal and talk to Nick Nolte.
We loved teen star’s conclusion on her bong drama -“do not let friends film you when you smoke salvia.”
The Lonely Island teamed up with Akon for a brand new song called I Just Had Sex .
The skit was brilliant and featured Jessica Alba and Blake Lively.
The lyrics go something like this:
Sometimes,Something beautiful happens in this world,And you don’t know how to express yourself, so
You just gotta sing,I just had sex,And it felt so good (felt so good),I went and let me put my penis inside of her.
Larry King Live:
Larry King who ended his show this week after being on the air for 25 long years interviewed a very emotional Dog The Bounty Hunter , a very greasy Jermaine Jackson and The Judds in a very forgettable skit.
Underground Holiday Event: Crunkmas Karnival :
This faux commercial/ketch about wild holiday parties never gets old and it even gets nastier, we mean funnier with time.
Musical guests :Eminem and Lil Wayne
When you think of Christmas you think of Eminem and Lil Wayne, right?
Anyway the duo took the stage for a very energetic performance of their collaboration called “No Love”? where Em lit the stage on fire.Later on Em took the stage sans Pink and sans Weezy for “Won’t Back Down.”
His performance was rapidly followed by Wayne who performed his new single entitled “6’7’’.Weekend Update:
The Weekend Update had a bit of of everything and everyone last night.
Kenan Thompson’s Michael Steele made an unsuccessful appearance.
Taran Killam’s Brad Pitt was weird and not very funny.
So thank goodness for Governor Paterson, Stefon, and Snookie who teamed up to sing “O Christmas Tree” and make us laugh with their funny faces.
“This You Call a Wonderful Life?”:
Jason Sudeikis’ Jimmy Stewart was pretty convincing we he popped up to reveal the classic film ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’ was originally created as a Chanukah film.
The skit had potentials but it turned out to be very flat and pointless.
This was probably one of the worst skit of the night where Jeff Bridges tried to prank his celebrity friends .
This piece was simply terribly written.
Jeff Bridges got the chance to play a weirdo in an old West general store where he gift wraps things in a strange way and even got to use his talent to stop a robbery.
We have no idea what to think of this sketch.
Happy Holidays From The Kardashians:
This was maybe one of the most hilarious skits of the night where Kim, Kourtney and Khloe showed up to wishing everyone happy holidays and share what they’re thankful for.
The sisters and their squeaky voices talked their black lovers, white friends and Jewish employees.
Overall it was a pretty solid episode of SNL thanks to Andy (who will be dropping a new CD next year) once more.
The show will be taking a short break and will be back in January with Emma Stone.
