How Did Farrah’s Baby Daddy Die? Sophia’s Father Derek Underwood – How did Farrah’s Baby Daddy Die? That is the question being posed by many of fans of the hit TV show Teen Mom. The MTV series follows Farrah Abraham who is now a single mom struggling to raise her daughter Sophia all alone.
According to reports Sophia’s father named Derek Underwood was killed just two months before she was born.
Derek’s mom, Stormie Clark, said: “He was all about family. In my mind, I think they probably would have eventually gotten married.”

Derek Underwood died at the age of 18 in December 2008 after losing control of his car and crashing it onto a power pole. Star claims that Derek did not know that Farrah had been cast in MTV’s 16 and Pregnant and eventually Teen Mom spinoff because the duo was separated at the time.
Derek Underwood is back in the headlines after Farrah Abraham opened up about his passing on Teen Mom Season 2 Episode 3 called “Valentine’s Day” which aired on MTV tonight.

I feel so bad for farrah and look at her in a new light. I mean this really explains a lot of why she acts the way she does. I wonder if she ever even got to grieve about it.

Every time I watched MTV, I was amazed at Farrah’s behavior towards her mother/parents. Even cursing them when she felt like it. I kept telling myself something is wrong with this girl. There is something underneath that has her acting that way. While I don’t condone her behavior entirely, I finally understood why she behaved the way she did. It really hurts my heart to know that her baby will never know her father… and I think that’s the hardest part. I am married and pregnant with my first baby now. Being pregnant has made me realize how close I am to my husband of almost 3 years. I am always worried about him…
But it really is a great relief to know that she wasn’t just behaving that way because she was a spoiled brat..! Now she needs some serious closure on Derek… She just needs some time to cry and grieve… after awhile it becomes easier… But Farrah, you need to allow yourself to talk about it always and everyday it will become better and easier to cope.. My heart goes out to you and your daughter….
Ps: I urge you to please get close to your ‘inlaws’ and that too will help you to bring closure on the matter. You DO NOT have to do it alone.
