Heroes Cancelled?

Heroes Cancelled? – There will be some very bad news for “Heroes” fans soon.It looks like Heroes’ cancellation is imminent ,so enjoy it while it lasts, the series might be ending as early as May 2010.An NBC executive told Airlock Alpha:

“There isn’t much happening with this show in terms of audience, and giving it a ‘final chapter’ feel is something the network is considering to help allow the show to go out with a bang.”

The source added:

“To keep a show like this going despite its numbers requires some nostalgic connection to it, and while there are a lot of people here who were part of bringing ‘Heroes’ to the air, they are not in the decision-making capacities.”

NBC is expected to cancel Heroes and shrink Jay Leno’s air time.

I loved seasons 1 and 2, but it started to blow in the 3rd. It’s funny how NBC will cancel great shows like Trauma, Medium, My Name is Earl, and Las Vegas, yet they will leave this turd on so it can “go out with a bang”.

    Heroes is good either way.
it will be okay if they end it.
I loved it to begin with. and I still think its awesome, but when they killed main characters and then dragged on, that bugged me.
I think they need to end it just like the dreams were showing somehow them all being together in new york.

Thank god. Heros has the worst writing ever. Oh yeah, and I used to watch this show a lot. I used to eraly give it a chance, but they jsut ruined it. I hope Hiro dies a slow painful death. This show needed comic book writers, you made the heros too strong, anyone who can time travel or stop time needs to die when his plot line is complete, same with death/ reviving, these are powers you can’t have in your story all the time, for obvious reasons.

Sarah Conor Chronicles Pwned this Show! and they unfortunaly canceled it. At least it had GOOD WRITING and ACTING.

  11. Dustin | Dec 15, 2009 | Reply

The fact that someone actually posted that the Sarah Conor Chronicles had even a fraction of good in it freightens me to the core. What a terrible sense in television you have Kevin

  12. Sketch | Dec 15, 2009 | Reply

I love this show. If you don’t like it don’t watch it. Keep your mouths shut. Sarah connor chronicles blows. And for the comic book tool…. Piss off. I’m stoked they have powers like that. If you cancel the show you’re a bunch of idiot’s.

Although Heroes is one of my favorite shows, I think it’s run it’s course. I think if it kept going it would get silly… and for some viewers, it already has. I just hope that by May, 2010, or whenever they cancel it, they answer all the questions people have. Maybe, they’ll leave a few really big questions open and then next summer we’ll all see the trailer for a Heroes movie bringing all the characters back and ending it for good.

Honestly, NBC should consider selling the show to Syfy. They already play old episodes- it would be a great edition to the shows that Syfy’s had lately like SGU and Caprica.

Either way, Tim Kring will likely come out with something bigger and better.

Well seeing how i am a super hero in real life, i dont see the need for shows like this that simply spread stereotypes about my kind. And of course Emily is not my real name, it is simply a secret identity.

Heroes is awsome. I can’t beleive they are cancelling it. don’t do it. I agree that some of the powers are too powerful but there is always a way to get around that. The x-men have done it time and time again. This calls for some creative writing.

  18. Eric | Jan 27, 2010 | Reply

Although I think your comment was hilarious Emily, I think you are ridiculously wrong. This is a great show, and if it gets canceled, I just might cry.

To see something I once liked so much go out in such a manner is really saddening. Low ratings, scathing reviews, dwindling fan base… How far you’ve fallen, Heroes. No one can really blame the network if it cancels the show. Heroes has gotten more chances to prove itself than a lot of other shows. Still, more and more people just keep losing interest. It would have been better if it had ended 2 seasons ago, back when I was still proud to tell my friends I was a fan.

  20. Mike | Jan 31, 2010 | Reply

I could care less if it is cancelled or not. It has been quite boring since the conclusion of “Villains”. They killed off Elle and Daphne which wasn’t cool. The best episode since “Villains”, in my opinion, was the one where Hiro went back in time to save Charlie. I say cancel Heroes and give Hiro his own show with Ando and Charlie. Other Heroes characters can have guest spots on it. I am now only watching it to see how it ends.

    Good riddance!!! Good riddance indeed.

It’s been serving as an infomercial for Grunberg’s garbage iphone App far too long. Shameless promotion, far-fetched writing, and forgettable characters make it an expensive and stinky pile for NBC to finally haul away.

Gunk like this should not pollute prime-time airwaves. Bravo on it’s overdue cancellation.

Maybe NBC can use the money it saves for something creative, and keep that shameless, self-promoting, wannabe actor (Grunberg), out of it.

You all are whacked. Heroes is STILL a great show & shouldn’t be canceled. I have been noticing a lot of shows having a season finally so soon, it isn’t cool. Heroes has a lot of potential still after these past few years (meaning can still grow, the possibilities are endless) & all you schmucks want to see a great show gone!!! SO what if a show has a bad show every now & then, it’s bound to happen, but I know there are still loyal fans out there… This season rocks so far & I wish it would continue, I want to see what Samuel has up his sleeve, not to mention who would become the bigger villain.

The writers of Heroes taken out a major ingredient that made the other series successful and that was multiculturalism. The display of other ethnicities widen the series appeal. Go back to the basic and the show will survive.

lost and heroes are great, nbc has its head so far up its a** it will never get its fanbase back again being the mid 70s 80s where it was on top. after conan getting stiffed and now heroes i think i will delete nbc from my cable channel selection. lost and heroes are great shows, heroes started to suffer only because they kept dropping and changing storylines after season 2 and because nbc is not bright enough to not put its newer shows up against major ones like 24 in the same times slot.boo all you heroes and lost haters. ive had enough with crime and medical dramas.time to turn of the tv again.

Heroes story lines are horrible. Loved season 1, and I watched all the episodes just to finish it all out, but my faith kept dwindling as the seasons went on. They need a more original story line, not add so many characters each season and kill a few main characters *coughcoughClairecoughcough*

Sad to see it go but I have to say I seen it coming. Too much focus on the cheerleader (who has become incredibly ‘blond’ in her decisions)if you ask me. now if they’d only get rid of smallville.

  36. gabe | Feb 26, 2010 | Reply

I like Heroes but there are no true consequences for the show.

New York going to be destroyed- saved.
    The Patrelli Dad- shot.
    Syler to become president- stopped.
The last guy with ability to make the ground shake- arrested.

They make these big plots with the end result, no real damage done. Okay a few heroes died but in measure with the plot no big deal. Unless the writing gets better then let it go away. It’s frustrating to see them try to draw you into a plot and then pull some silly ending and say “Hey we were just kidding no real danger here.”

The final episode this season, although it said Continued would really make a good last episode for the series, allowing many viewers to imagine their own ending. In a way,it could end the way it began with Claire doing a dive off a high place.(Didn’t she dive off a bridge in episode 1 0r 2?)I think Heroes should end this way.

Heroes Season One was fantastic and was one of my favorite shows at the time. Unfortunately, the storyline for season two went off on a strange tangent and the show has never quite gotten back on track. There have been some moments where it looked like the show was headed back to the awesomeness that was season one, but it never quite made it. This past season has been pretty miserable as the writing in general is just not as good as it used to be. It’s really too bad because I think that with some good writing the show could make a comeback, although I don’t think that’s going to happen.

  44. anonymous | May 7, 2010 | Reply

Sorry to say Heroes has run it’s course. I truly enjoyed the first 2 seasons and looked forward to the next one,but some of the story lines have been hard to follow. They should have stayed with a few core characters. Instead they kept adding different characters with different abilities and at times was hard to keep up with the main story lines. It kept putting the same characters in danger week after week and to me that is when this show should have ended a season ago.

That’s too bad, it had some bad writing and WAYYYYY too much time spent on Claire but the show still had some potential. I’m not surprised and neither should any of you.

After all we live in an age where our general population is somehow captivated by inane garbage like Real Housewives, Kate Gosseline, Survivor, Jersey Shore, 12 different shows about BAKING CAKES,and shows about captivating real life jobs that NONE OF US WANT like parking meter maids & pawn shop schleps.

Don’t mind me, I’m still bitter about Firefly being cancelled and shows like Journeyman, LIFE, etc not getting a fair chance. Hey, look at the bright side maybe we’ll get another COP or MEDICAL show thrown at us. That would be a refreshing change.

I’ll be over at FX watching Archer, Sons of Anarchy, Justified, Rescue Me, It’s always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, etc.

I am sad to see it go. I liked the inner conflict in the characters- good vs evil- good of all vs loyalty to family- the characters were complex and mostly believable- I am glad Sylar reformed before the end, I was wanting that to happen. Farewell and thanks!

  62. Heroic | May 27, 2010 | Reply

Season 1 was special, season 2 was not as much but still entertaining. By season 4 the show had lost its imspiration, IMHO, and was still going entirely on momentum. At this point, Sylar was the only somewhat convincing character. The rest were about as believable as characters in an after-shchool special. Even the way it ended with Sylar turning good, but still having a mean streak just felt a bit weak, not really satisfying. The dialogue from characters like PEter and Claire got to be excruciatingly slow and monotonic. The constantly dark lighting too, I know they wanted that moody dark feel, but for me it makes it more “sleepy” and harder to follow what’s really happening during the action scenes.

  63. Heroic | May 27, 2010 | Reply

OK, I take it back, Hiro stayed a pretty good character, it’s just that some of the “let’s explain the complicated plot so the fans can understand it while trying to make it sound like dialogue” dialogue could get excruciating. Also, too much claire and peter, not enough Hiro and Sylar. Also, I thought Nathan was a good part of the show, I would have gotten rid of peter or “super-mohinder” before Nathan. And that’s another thing, giving Mohinder permanent super powers was kind of lame. Sometimes the smart wimpy guy should just stay the smart wimpy guy, it adds chemistry and believability to the show.

Also giving Peter the ability to adsorb the Haitians power ruined some of the Haitian’s mystique for me. The Haitian has always been this untouchable entity to other heroes, it really made his character.

Anyway, I’ll take my “internet-cohones” off now, like I’m so much smarter than the writers! (But I am!;))

I loved heroes in the beginning, the 2nd season I felt was lost either by poor workmanship or loss of insight, it dragged on to where I was getting bored. Most likely something to do with the writers strike at the time. I saw they were trying to fix things in the 3rd and 4th season, and can’t say that I loved the carnival theme in season four, but it’s a show that I’ve been willing to stick through with ups and downs just because I’ve grown to love the characters. I know there is nothing that will change NBC from canceling it. I almost wish that another network would pick them up like CBS did with Medium. I see too many good shows being canceled before it has time to mature, and although heroes has had 4 seasons to get there, perhaps they didn’t make their mark, but it will still be sad. In closing if Lost can go on for years when everyone knows that show is a big dream, then why can’t Heroes. If only the writers perhaps had better inspiration, but we’ll never know.

I stopped watching this show when Sylar kept coming back from the dead. In addition, the plot just kept getting more & more convoluted. I laughed when I heard it was cancelled becasue we cancelled it ourselves a year earlier.

The problem was that they were too focused on getting back to season 1 and not on doing something new. (Just watch, a legion of fanboys are sure to attack!) However, I think there was some great stuff this season. The Matt/Sylar thing was great! Tracy freezing Claire was also good. One major problem is that Claire became the main character. Also, all the heroes wanted “normal lives”, yet they had powers and that got old. They also introduced Samuel, and as much as that guy is a great actor, it was stale and boring. Maybe had he recruited some of the regulars and there was an epic war, that could have been cool.

Anyway, it didn’t feel like it was about the characters and how their powers affected their lives. It was about saving the world. Story should serve characters, not the other way around. That was the fatal flaw and final blow.

This was the worst move for NBC to make. I agree, HEROES was the best TV series, period. F*k NBC for saying ratings fell. I think it’s a crock of sh**. Anyway, it sounds like NBC knew last year that they were go’n to cancel the show, yet told us(the fans) otherwise.
