Glee Season Finale Journey:Watch Season 1 Episode 22 Online S01E22 – Glee Season Finale/Season 1, Episode 22 called Journey which was written and directed Brad Falchuk aired on FOX last night.
Glee really stepped it up for the finale using popular songs like “Faithfully”,”Any Way You Want It” / “Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin'”,”Don’t Stop Believin'”,”Bohemian Rhapsody”,”To Sir, with Love” and “Over the Rainbow” and making everything look predictable but shocking us with twists after twists at the end.
As the plots of the installment ,the first one mainly dealt with Quinn getting more anxious by the minute as she expects the baby and secondly focused on the Regionals finally arriving and the Glee Club wondering if they win the championship.
Here is a recap of the episode:
Doom looms over New Directions after Sue (Jane Lynch) announces that she will be one of the judges at Regionals, along with Josh Groban, Olivia Newton-John, and local news anchor Rod Remington (Bill A. Jones). After a failed appeal to Principal Figgins (Iqbal Theba) to stop Sue’s plan to crush glee club, Will (Matthew Morrison) seeks guidance from Emma (Jayma Mays).
Rachel (Lea Michele) kisses Finn (Cory Monteith) when he encourages her to be more optimistic. At regionals, Aural Intensity is first to perform, singing an unseen, briefly heard, mash-up of “Magic” by Olivia Newton-John and “You Raise Me Up” by Josh Groban. Dismayed at their prospects against the competition, Will arrives backstage to give a pep talk.
Quinn’s (Dianna Agron) mother Judy Fabray (Charlotte Ross) comes to watch Quinn perform. She tells Quinn that she kicked her father out of the house after she found out he was having an affair and invites Quinn to come back home. Quinn is shown having her baby during Vocal Adrenaline’s performance of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. Shelby Corcoran (Idina Menzel) declines Rachel’s offer to teach at McKinley High, expressing her desire to settle down and start a family and adopts Quinn’s baby who Puck (Mark Salling) named Beth.
Vocal Adrenaline places first, Aural Intensity is the runner-up, and New Directions places third and last. Notwithstanding a heated argument with Principal Figgins, Emma is unable to save New Directions.
Sue blackmails Principal Figgins one final time into giving New Directions one more year. Sue explains to Will that she may not like him, but she respects his work with the students. Will and Puck perform “Over the Rainbow” in celebration.
Overall it was a pretty decent episode that may appear cheesy to some yet romantic and positive to others.
There was a lot of music in this finale which is always a good thing especially when the performances are well delivered -which was the case last night.
Back to the positive notes ,so many couples were formed and a baby girl was born- so who can ask for more.
However we were a bit surprise by the fact there were zero cliffhangers and we were left with our tongue on the floor when New Directions didn’t win.
