Eric Braeden Young & The Restless Staying:Victor Newman Not Leaving Y&R – Eric Braeden the star of CBS’ soap “Young & the Restless” will no longer be leaving the show.Braeden accepted a pay cut in his contractual dispute with ‘Y&R,’ producer.Braeden’s salary will be reduce from $1.5 million a year to $1 million,after Sony asked cast and crew to take pay cuts.Eric Braeden has been playing Victor Newman in the show since 1980.

I can not believe he took a paycut though. 1 million a year for working year round when other actors get 8 million dollars for a half hour episode?? They ought to move the soaps to nightime. Y and R is just as good as Dallas or 90210.

Sharon is a slut, Nick is fickle, Victoria needs to grow up, Neal needs to find a woman so he can stop meddling in his kids lives, Victor is a man whore and Nikki has battered women’s syndrome, because Victor is constantly verbally abusing her and she keeps coming back for more! I’ve watched the show from the beginning and the only thing I’d like to see is Nikki get out of this mode.

This is so sad. Victor is going to stick around. Gees, haven’t we carried this stupid, ridiculous, piece of *rap plot out for way too long. The man has basic sentence fragments as lines and absolutely no redeeming qualities. Got that!!! To continue down this path for another 30 years, dragging in the young and making fans wish that they were not in a continuing script nightmare would be nice for a change. He is a worthless character. Alot of us have had enough. I hope this soap starts a slow drowning. After 30 years of faithful loyalty, I for one am offended for thinking that the fans don’t have the where with all to wrap our brains around a new plot day after day. The same machinations every day drag down. Please, don’t throw them a life jacket. This show is creating a rotten stink!!!!

To Kristen K: This is a freedom of speech country. I will say what I want, when I want and about what I want. I obviously hit a nerve about the show and Victor Newman. If they continue this ridiculous storyline for another 30 years, than I am out of there. They have some very talented actors, Eric, mister I have a 30 word vocabulary, is no longer one of them and new story lines that need to be explored. No wonder Sony is losing money. They have no clue! I for one have been disrespected for my loyalty to this show. What happened to twist and turns and the greatest writers ever on a soap opera?

I am sooo f’n happy that Victor is staying. Love him or hate him..Victor’s character is a part of almost every person’s life in Genoa City..it would be a huge gap in the entire show if he left. That’s the beauty of it..his character is so believable that not everyone is supposed to like the guy or the things that he does. He’s an antagonist. If everyone on the show was likeable, it wouldn’t be interesting..that said, I believe Adam needs to be caught for his transgressions like YESTERDAY rather than dragging it out..but eh..i digress =\

Im really glad that Victor is staying the show just wouldnt be the same without him… Ive watched it for nearly 30 years , if he left I dont know if I could continue watching! I miss guiding light.. I wish they hadnt went off the air.

Victor, Catherine, Nikki, Jack & John are the staples for this soap. John couldn’t even die off. They had to bring him back as a ghost. Kris, don’t waste your time (life) & Cathy, get a life, a hobby, a man or something…. mainly, stop watching it if you don’t GET the various story lines which include Victor as well.

I have only had a few pleasures in life and watching the, the misunderstood Victor was one of them.i can’t beleave you would keep someone like Adam or Billy ,Who are just evil, and let Victor go. When Victor leaves , so will I.

there is no young and the restless without victor. there would be no sense in watching the show if victor is not in it. he adds life, character and substance to the show. i’ve watched this show for more that 30+ years becaue the excitement and drama that Victor’s caracter brings. if victor goes you will loose a lot of viewers. do you realize a lot of men watch young and the restless because of victor newman. in regards to adam’s character he definitely needs to be expose, and let nick take care of him. let the too brothers go at it like cain and abel. stop letting ashley be so dumb and please give sharon and nick their baby back. this story line is so rediculous. nick and sharon need to be together and put jack and phyllis back together. since jack
and phyllis slept together, it would be nice if she was pregnant by jack; and they got back together jack needs a baby of his own.

Victor should stay,why not take Phyllis off,she never got exposed when she changed the blood test for Daniel and killed Shasa and then she ran over Paul and no one ever found out yet she judges Amber.I know this is just T.V.but why not expose her alittle and let people see that her baby belong to Jack and then get rid of her,Adam and a few other ones on there. Do something good for the show in example.Put Nick and Sharon back together and Victor and Nikki.If Victor goes watch your rating go down and that means I want be watching.Y&R has really gotten silly with the wrong exposer.Get back to reality!

glad to hear from you bj. if you want to spice up the show bring drew (victoria) and malcom (shamaar) back. she’s another character that added substance to the show and kept the story interesting. she has been gone too long and a daughter needs her mom in a time of crisis. hey! drew could be a sarrogate for lilly and her husband. give them twins a boy and a girl. it too much sorrow and sadness. let something good happen for a change.

I have been a fan of the young and the restless. I am so happy Victor is staying. If he had left there was no need to watch the show anymore. I think the Adam story of the baby is ridiculous. This is not the Young and the Restless style. I feel the writers have gone too far with this story. I feel it is unethical. Please give Sharon her baby back. I’m sure the writers will let Sharon will fall in love with Adam and later he’ll be exposed. She will have a bitter sweet moment when she realizes her baby is alive but the man (Adam) she fell in love with is responsible. I thought Summer’s illness would expose Jack as the father instead of Nick. Make Phyllis pay for all her dirt and give Sharon her family back. Though I love Victor. He changes women like the season and unfortunately Nikki is always there.

I am glad Victor is staying and that he and Nikki are back together. They are two main staples of the show, and I have grown up with Nikki. Now get Phyliss back to being the evil witch she used to be, and combine her with Jack to wreck havoc on all. Make Jack more evil instead of the wishy/washy sissy he has become. Victoria needs to become the female Victor, and Nick can stay the goodie two shoes, but he should be with Sharon. Abby should be the new town bike, where everyone gets to take a ride. I would also like to see Ashley become stronger willed and maybe have a love interest. Guess I should become a writer. LOL Welcome back Victor, Y&R would not be the same w/o U! and Nikki!

this is a good time for drucilla to come back and be that support a daughter needs from her mom. it’s time for adam to be exposed for everthing he has done. you started a good story line when sharon called the hospital enquiring about the doctor who delivered her baby. you dropped the ball on that one. she also needs to follow up at the morgue and discover that they never had the remains of her daughter. writers get the ball rolling on these story lines. make good a good watch, i would be glad to help. please please don’t let sharon get involved with adam she deserves better than that. let nicholas take adam to the hoop and ring him ou him. send him packing with nothing. nick deserves better than phyllis. keep your story interresting and not alway predictable like where you are headed with adam and sharon.
