Emmy Awards Nominations 2010 List:62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Award

Emmy Awards Nominations 2010 List:62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Award – The 2010 Emmy Nominations were announced today. “Glee” was the overwhelming winner of the day, bringing in 19 Emmy nominations, the most of any series. The categories the show was nominated in include best comedy series, as well as acting nominations for a number of the cast members including Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison.
A number of other shows did well today too. “Modern Family,” a comedy about a dysfunctional family was able to earn 14 nominations. “Mad Men,” a series that airs on AMC, has been the winner of the best dramatic series award for the last two years.

This year, they were able to earn 17 nominations, including best drama series and acting nominations for the shows top actor and actress, Jon Hamm and January Jones.
“Lost,” also received some high profile nominations including best dramatic series, and a best actor nomination for Matthew Fox. Terry O’Quinn received a nomination for best supporting actor in a dramatic series. “Lost,” said its goodbyes this year in the shows final season.
Conan O’Brien’s short lived “The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien,” also received a nomination in the category of best variety, music or comedy series. Jay Leno did not receive a nomination for his work on the show this year, and some have speculated that the move was made to purposefully snub Leno.
“Breaking Bad,” another AMC drama that coincides with “Mad Men,” also received a number of nominations including Bryan Cranston for best actor in a drama. You may remember Cranston from when he played Hal in “Malcolm in the Middle.”
The Emmys will air live on Sunday, August 29 at 8/7c.
