They canceled it because there is not enough sex. It makes me sick. My 8 year old loves Knight Rider because of the cool car. But I won’t let him watch it because there is so much sex in it. I am not a prude by any means, but this is too much for a show that kicks off the prime time hour.
Please don’t cancel Eli Stone. It’s a show I am proud to watch and am proud to let my children watch.

I love this show! But, the networks are driven by Wall Street like most other major corporations. If it doesn’t drive up the stock/ad value it’s viewed as worthless whether it’s good or not.
Your stock is going to tank ANYWAY in the economic Armageddon that will arrive soon, so why not keep a good show on the air. People will be desperately looking for inspiration.

Eli Stone is without a doubt one of the best shows tv has to offer….its too bad the network “SUITS” and number crunchers are too blind to see that it takes more than 13 episodes for a show to gain the 10 million audience viewership numbers thats seem to be required these days to stay on the air…lets only hope that it gets picked up by another network that deserves it. ! I don’t normally “write in” on things, guess I am a passive sort, at least when it came to TV shows. But this is changing all that. I have made it a point to watch only two shows this year, one of which was Eli. It is an awesome show, a non-formulaic hit that is both fun and thought provoking. It makes a statement about society, people, relationships, and faith (and I am an atheist).
So where do we “write in” to the knotheads at ABC who nixed the show?
And until it is back on, I am going to boycoit any ABC show for the next two years.

Eli Stone is a well written show with a strong cast of characters. It seems that the only shows networks want to produce anymore are lame reality shows. What happened to thought provoking television? Eli Stone would be one of those classic TV shows that last forever if given the chance – the substance of each episode’s premise was similar to the underlying thoughts throughout the original Star Trek. Cancelling Eli Stone just proves that the networks believe the American public only wants mindless drivel on TV – which is perhaps why the networks are losing so much ground to the cable stations. Hopefully, one of the other networks – even a cable network like USA – will recognize the strength of Eli Stone and pick it up. As for ABC, by cancelling Eli you’ve totally freed up my Tuesday nights.

It is one of the few shows that my husband and I both like. ABC is making a huge mistake. The show is just starting to develop an overarching storyline with the father’s notebook. With any luck at all, one of the better thinking networks, such as TNT,USA or FOX will pick the show up. We notice that with all the options available to the American viewer, there are less and less quality choices to be made. Sorry for ABC’s lack of good judgement. When the big 3 networks loose their ratings status to the other networks, they will only have themselves to blame.

I am SO sick of them cancelling well-written, well-acted, thought-provoking shows without giving them a chance! Eli Stone, as well as Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money are the only things worth watching on ABC. What is WRONG with these network execs? Are they insane? Is all they know how to produce is this mind-numbing reality crap any more? Years ago, shows were given a chance to “catch on.” I also heard that Life on Mars may be on its way out. Well, that leaves nothing left to watch on ABC- I will no longer be watching your network. Grey’s was good for the first few years- you’ve managed to dilute that somehow- barely worth watching anymore, but I do because it’s at least a drama. Yet you keep it around. NBC cancelled Journeyman without giving it a chance, either. With this being the last year for ER, and Boston Legal finished, there will basically be nothing left to watch on network TV. If the execs are concerned- they have only themselves to blame. Look at the cable chanels taking chances with great dramas- like Damages. C’mon ABC, and all the other networks- SAVE Eli Stone and DSM!!! Only reason I ever tune into your channels! I will be watching a good movie or drama on the cable channels from now on! Or turning the TV off all together- when we all start doing this-then where will your revenue be coming from? I think you better check your demographics a little better- even the younger kids are going to eventually get sick of the reality crap!!!

Eli Stone is one of the only shows that I watch on ABC. I am so dissapointed that it is being canceled. I look forward to this show every week. Now after watching this weeks episode I am dying to find out what will happen next to Eli. The show is original, well written and has a great message without being preachy. It was truely refreshing to finally find a show for people with a brain and a conscience. Bad call ABC. I hope you reconsider.

Cancelling “Eli Stone” only further proves to me that so-called network executives are as stupid, incompetent, and as out of touch with mainstream America as banking executives, auto executives, and every other executive that has run a successful thriving business straight into the dirt with idiotic decisions. I’m going back to the Discovery channel never to return to the “major” networks!

I am very dissapointed to hear/read that Eli Stone is being cancelled. We have a hard time finding shows that we enjoy. This show was delightful and I am trying to understand why one would choose to can it. Is abc unable to afford surveys or have the means to find out what the public wants? This household is now down to five shows that we watch on a regular basis, none are offered by abc.
I would suggest some forward thinking on your part and I hope execs realize the current changes in the American public. Americans will not allow overpaid executives to dictate our wants and needs–anymore. Listen to your audience. You are cancelling Eli Stone and keeping some bs reality show like the bachelor. how do you justify that?

No wonder there’s a drop in viewership. Great shows ending and replace with more reality TV. What ever happen to commitment? One day I’ll be able to tell my grandkids that there was once a job position called Network TV Executives. Of course, “they will ask what happen to them” and I will say, “they were cancelled because a guy with a Viking helmet and a big clock around his neck told them what time it is.”

I was so disappointed to hear the news regarding the cancellation of Eli Stone. I have to work very early in the morning so I don’t bother with many shows that start at, or after, 9:00 PM, but I did record and look forward to watching Eli Stone every week. It was one of my absolute favorites. I sometimes wonder if networks don’t realize how many programs are recorded and watched at a later date, due to work and scheduling conflicts. Maybe it just doesn’t show up in their rating system. Please don’t cancel this innovative and entertaining show!!

I was a huge Eli fan up until the last episode about the transgender minister and the ‘my baby might have Downs so I should put myself first’ storyline. Are you kidding?! There is no such thing as entertainment anymore. It is just a bunch of suits pushing their agenda down the throat of the average person. I am so sick of Liberal Hollywood taking everything and trying to turn it into some “issue”. I believe I speak for a large percentage of viewers – we don’t need Hollywood to tell us what to believe, we can make up our own minds on the issues so stop trying to influence us and the up and coming generations!!!

Eli Stone is truly a fantastic piece of work, but ABC runs on greed, the same fuel that has incinerated our economy. It doesn’t matter how good anything or anyone is, if it doesn’t make the ad rates and stock price go up, it goes in the dumpster.
But, this show will not die. One of the Cable Channels will pick it up which is one more reason not to watch network television.
ABC’s 10PM Entertainment Next Tuesday…
Hidden cameras reveal the reactions of unsuspecting passersby to a variety of situations, including witnessing a stranger slip a powder in a drink and a deli cashier exhibiting racial discrimination toward a customer, among other scenarios.
Think I’ll puke.

Eli Stone is a wonderful good clean family show and we don’t even have kids!! I am a baby boomer and love this show. It shows that the world isn’t all bad, guns and car chases, and thankfully it is 180 degrees away from REALITY shows that aren’t real at all. This is one of the best written shows any network has had the balls to air in a long long time and now it is being canceled. Sheesh, get yer heads out of the money pit and leave this quality, entertaining, fun, morally good for the viewers show on the schedule. Get rid of the stupid reality shows and leave the good stuff for those of us who actually have an intelligence quotient. Please.

I agree with some part of every letter that precedes this one. I have already cancelled cable because there was so little quality viewing. There is one show left on ABC, now that Eli is gone, that I watch besides the news, and one on FOX. If those are cancelled I’m throwing my TVs out the window. I can read the paper for my news and books for entertainment.

Yes, I’m afraid with the cancellation of Eli Stone my renewed interest in network television is gone again. The show was interesting, entertaining, well-written, and the acting was a pleasure (especially Victor Garber and Jonny Lee Miller). You’d think ABC would realize that in these challenging times a show like this is exactly what people are looking for. I’d love to think that, as some have mentioned, it would be picked up on a cable channel, but with a cast that talented they probably all have new jobs already. At least I hope so…good luck to them.

Eli Stone all time favorite show. Eli Stone bring us faith, hope, and something to believe in. I consider it an all time feel good show the only one if its kind. We want to see Taylor and Matt get married and have the baby, whether Nate and Beth get married and have kids and most of all if Eli will ever find love and have a family. In the past I never cared before whether a TV show was canceled or not. Please give Eli Stone some more support, give it another chance. Have a heart ABC Listen to the fans not the ratings like the last time. I will not give up hope that Eli Stone will be saved. I know the fans will get it done. The world really needs Eli Stone right now. It is uplifting. It is well written, well produced and well acted. Given the chance, with time, and maybe a little more marketing, this show could be a huge success. It is such a breath of fresh air from all of the stupid staged “reality” shows, that are anything but reality. Give it a chance…heck, Seinfeld wasn’t a success at first either…. I think the viewing audience is ready for a fresh show like this, instead of the cookie-cutter, mass produced repeats that are the line up every night. where is your artistic integrity? With so much on TV that has questionable value, why cancel a show that is so positive and draws the viewer into plots that center around helping someone in need? We need this show and more like it. You finally come out with a decent show and you go and cancel it. I have never written in to “voice” my opinion before but this one really bothers me. I look forward to watching Eli. It’s one of my few pleasures I still have and now you’re going to take it away. It doesn’t make sense. Please ABC listen to the fans not the ratings Couldn’t you at the very least try a different time slot? Try 8:30 that is the time it airs in Australia or put it on Sundays episode ‘Waiting for that day’ did really well when it premiered. Or switch networks like they did with Scrubs. COME ON EVERYONE LET’S HELP SAVE ELI BY NOT WATCHING ANY NEW ABC SHOWS WATCH THEM ON THE INTERNET IF YOU HAVE TO. SAVE ELI STONE SAVE ELI STONE SAVE ELI STONE. Please ABC reconsider. Cancellation of Eli Stone…such a shame that another provocative and interestingly unique piece will bite the dust at the hands of ABC. I suppose it will be replaced by some Reality / Freak Show of the Out of Work or Once Almost Was “Stars” or perhaps even CSI Blue Ball, Ohio.
It is all too obvious that TV these days is not intended to have much in the way of relevance to someone in my demographic. Being over 50, I am too old to be a target “audience” for whatever product the sponsors are pushing unless it is some damn medicine I am suppose to bug my physician about and whose speedily read side-effects will kill me anyway. Maybe that is why I do not make for a good target audience…what is targeted for me will kill me before I have a chance to take the bait for some other commercial crap earmarked for those considerably younger than I. Besides, I am not a very good target audiebce anyway since I ignore most commercials and I make sure I do not follow up on a product whose commercials annoy me due to their banality or incessant airings / repetitiveness.
The moguls in the entertainment industry are too chicken-shit to take any creative chances. Therefore everything is derivative, a remake, or in the case of movies; plumbed with some so called high priced personality with “star / drawing power”. Like the Government, the Industry either throws money at a problem or opts for something that can be done on the cheap. Goodbye Eli…you will be in good company…

You are cancelling all of my favorite shows. I really enjoyed Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money and Lipstick Jungle. Hopefully, the networks will reconsider or another network will pick them up. The competition is good on other networks at the same time…..but recording one of them is wonderful so I can watch all of my favorites. Bringem back!!

I am disappointed about the cancellation of Eli Stone. I guess there is not enough bare-butt sex, gratuitous violence or cussing to keep this wonderful show on the air. Greg Berlanti was also the producer of Everwood, and I was also sorry to see that show cancelled as well.

I can’t believe that ABC has cancelled this great show. All of the ridiculous, foul shows are allowed to remain on the air, but the really great shows are cancelled. Do all of the people that make these decisions have low moral values and believe that the rest of the viewing public agree with them? Some of us enjoy watching a show that is entertaining and actually has a story line and not just nonsense or “reality”, meaning half nude and immoral, or constant killing and lawbreaking. Please bring back one of shows that meant something.

And like so many in this post could not wait until the next episode each week. I heard it was being cancelled and thought it was just a rumor. I just decided to google it since there hasn’t been one on for a while. It is a really big disappointment. I guess I am not representative of what the masses prefer.

Thanks for killing Mommy time. This blows. Please re-consider and bring this show back. I can’t even believe I have to write this. There aren’t too many shows out there like this. ABC really should see the potential here. I don’t know if you need to move time slots or days or something but you do need to pull a Family Guy and put this puppy back on air.

Very unfortunate this show has been canceled…I’m sure ABC has their reasons…what they are I can only imagine! If the show did not have a favorable rating, it could very well be the time-slot in which it was scheduled…10PM here on the Pacific coast is not a very good time by any means! The cast was excellent and the characters believable. I hope enough people comment on this to warrant ABC bringing it back, sooner than later!!!

I think I am starting to understand ABC, they prefer a TV wasteland. It seems that everytime a show is creative, well written, and watched by millions who are smarter than a 5th grader, they cancel it. Eli Stone made you think and had a positive message. BRING IT BACK NOW. Also, while we are on the subject, how about Jericho?

UNBELIEVABLE! This is so disappointing!
The show had beautiful & thought provoking messages, great storyline, acting, wonderful music, so funny & entertaining. I was always amazed at the writers & ABC for such creativity…ORIGINALITY! and going beyond the norm.
Is it a sign of the times: people prefer junk and more junk TV? More junk in their heads??? Eli Stone made me hopeful that this was not the case, and all of your comments here as well
Would everyone who has commented here write to ABC? Not quite sure if this will have an impact but it’s worth trying.

ABC is CRAZY! Eli Stone let the viewer become part of the show. The acting was great. We asked ourselves what we would do in that situation. We related to the music. Loved the guests. The good guy wins. The far fetched premise is the key to why we liked it. The films where God shows up to talk to the common man are keepers. ABC, if you’re listening, your population is getting older. We want the old songs. We are getting more religious (facing death does that to you)and we want God to have a sense of humor. Big Mistake!

The final episode was anything but final in my opinion. It left much to be discovered and yet again a stupid executive somewhere totally disconnected from life makes a decision to cancel a quality show. I looked forward every week to seeing Eli Stone, sometimes I wasn’t home to watch it, but I always had it setup to automatically tape on ALL my tv’s in my home (4), just to make sure I could watch it in whatever room I was in. This is one of the few great shows, that didn’t involve stupid reality shows that are anything but. This show has something to look forward to and in a time when things are so uncertain it was nice to look forward and tune into this every week. I’m surprised at your choice. Why not move it to ABCFamily or another affiliate or USA, but really to cancel. Obviously there are idiots running the show at ABC

My husband & I have enjoyed Eli Stone more than any of the shows currently running: humor, sensitivity, mind stretching situations…a strong sense of what goodness can do in life.
