Dexter season 5 episode 6 called “Everything Is Illumenated” which was directed by Steve Shill and written by Wendy West aired last night on Showtime.
The episode picked up where things left off last week – with Dex thinking that Lumen is out of Miami – he goes back to his normal hobby of killing of course.
While Dex was about to kill his new target a man named Lance who convinces other men into having sex with him and then murders them – he is interrupted by Lumen, who tells him that she’s killed one of the men responsible for her rape (as it turned out the man was very much alive).
So he has to change his plans, put Lance in his trunk and go help Lumen.
This is where the installment got interesting – the duo is forced to track down the man she thought she shot with Lance in the back of his car while Deb about the catch him committing two crimes.
As for the subplots Quinn’s investigation into Dexter is going no where and we learned nothing new about the Santa Muerta case.
Here is the recap of the episode:
Striving to bring some normalcy back into his shattered life, Dexter figures the answer lies in finding a new serial killer to bring down, but his quest gets thrown off course when his troubled new acquaintance requires his help. Meanwhile, Batista uncovers a revealing new lead in the Santa Muerte homicides, and Quinn gets a tip about Dexter, but is not sure he can trust his source.
Overall it was a good episode – it was probably the best one this season thanks the good acting skills of the main character and the well written plot.
There were some very intense scenes where the writers made us believed that Deb was actually going to catch her brother.
And the episode ended in interesting way – Dexter and Lumen could be seen near the bathtub where Rita died and having a deep conversation.
