Dexter season 5 episode 3 called “Practically Perfect” which was directed by Ernest Dickerson and written by Manny Coto aired last night on Showtime.
“Dexter” has made a number of changes to their formula this season. Instead of the usual Dexter vs another serial killer formula, we will be treated to an entire season of Dexter trying to understand the monster he has become while battling many murderers . In the wake of his wife’s death, we have already learned that he is suspected by a number of people – mainly Quinn of being the murderer due to his inability to feel normal human emotion .
In this new episode we get to see Dexter awkwardly try to hire a nanny so that he can have time to stalk his next victim Boyd before he kills again.
With a baby at home, he hasn’t been able to make enough time for his own hobbies and is looking to get back to what he does best. Hiring a nanny is a bit out of his realm and he doesn’t really know what he is doing.
Meanwhile, Debra will have issues when the lieutenant who attempts to bring in a rookie officer to help her solve a double homicide when a number of her theories turn out to be true.
The episode ended with a bang- Dex was able to have his way with Boyd but was unaware that the man he will killing a victim played by Julia Stiles who witnessed everything.
It will be interesting to see how Dex handles this new situation -what does he do with an innocent woman who was a victim of a horrible crime but who happened to know too much of his dirty secrets?
It will be interesting to watch Dexter as he continually deals with the loss of his wife, Rita, take care of the kids and his secret holder.
