Detroit 187 TV Show Pilot-Watch Season Premiere Online S01E01

Detroit 187 TV Show Pilot-Watch Season Premiere Online S01E01 – Michael Imperioli, of “Sopranos” fame, is making another attempt at television with his new show “Detroit 1 8 7” which looks very interesting to say the least. It premiered this Tuesday on ABC, and the title references a section of the California Penal Code that refers to homicide. Gangs across the region use the term as a slang term for murder, and it has been featured in a number of rap songs.

With so many new police shows debuting this year, you must wonder how “Detroit 1 8 7” get ahead of the pack. Imperioli has had a number of failed returns to television after his end on “The Sopranos.” The concept of the new show was originally to have it shot documentary-style, but that idea was abandoned after Detroit banned camera crews from following around its officers after a controversial police shooting took place.

He plays a 10 year homicide veteran and a man that is largely mysterious to his coworkers. Much like Dr. House on the popular show “House,” his brilliance at his craft is what makes him so interesting throughout the show, but he does have problems interacting socially with other people.

In the pilot episode, we learn that he might have suffered some sort of head trauma in the past, which would explain his strangeness in social settings, but nothing concrete is really handed out regarding Imperioli’s character.
In the first episode we quickly understand what will set this show apart from other-it is more focused on the characters and their personal dramas -not on the killers they are chasing.
However there were two interesting case in this episode ,the first was a double homicide in a pharmacy while other dealt with the body man in an expensive suit that was discovered in an abandoned train car.

At the end of the day we have to confess the show is better than a handful of other cop shows that are being released this season, but that doesn’t mean that it will be able to secure an audience large enough to keep it on the airwaves.
Hopefully they will be able to overcome the controversy that claims that the writers are exploiting Detroit’s high crime rate which is not a laughing manner for ratings.

What are your thoughts on the episode?

That’s all we have for now on Detroit 187 TV Show.
