Daytime Emmys 2010 Winners – If you’re a big fan of Daytime then you might find it welcoming that the results have come in for the 2010 Emmy winners. If you’ve followed the Emmy Awards in the news lately then you’re probably aware that these could be the last Emmy Awards for Daytime TV. The event has had plenty of anticipation and it aired live from the Las Vegas Hilton, hosted by Regis Philbin last night. The event featured several big name performers like Cirque du Soleil, The Jersey Boys and many tributes to Dick Clarke for As the World Turns which is expected to end it’s well recognized 50-year run in September. The producer and writer of One Life to Live as well as All My Children received a glowing reward from the Emmy’s this year. Agnes Nixon was privileged to accept such an honor being declared the Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for his success in Daytime TV.

As you might expect, As the World Turns picked up many of the big Emmy Awards. These include Outstanding Lead Actor which was given to Michael Park (Jack Snyder), Outstanding Lead Actress: Maura West (Carly Tenney Snyder), and Outstanding Supporting Actress: Julie Pinson (Janet Ciccone). However, there were some surprises at the awards especially when it came to The Bold and the Beautiful which took home Outstanding Drama Series. Over the years, ABC’s General Hospital has been the most recognized for its achievements on Daytime TV. This years winners came as unexpected news but still, 18 nominations were given to General Hospital while CBS’ The Young and the Restless took home 16 nominations.
