American Idol May 18 2010

American Idol May 18 2010 – American Idol Semifinals aired last night where Crystal Bowersox, Lee Dewyze and Casey James took the stage to perform songs selected by the judges. In case you have forgotten this is Simon Cowell’s last two weeks on the show.
Here is the recap of the episode:
Casey James : Eric Hutchinson’s “OK, It’s Alright With Me”:
His acoustic version on the track did not really impress the panel.
It was “too safe and easy” for Randy Jackson, and very disappointing for Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres, and Simon Cowell said it was just bad.

Casey James : “Daughters” by John Mayer .
Simon was bored by the song but Kara loved it and said “This fit you like a glove,” while Ellen added “Lots of daughters, mothers and, who knows, sons will be voting for you”.

Crystal Bowersox : Melissa Etheridge: “Come to My Window”
We are not sure she added anything to the track but the panel thought otherwise and applauded her for remaining a true artist. Ellen told her “Melissa would be very proud of you “.

Crystal Bowersox : Paul McCartney’s “Maybe I’m Amazed”.
Bowersox dumped her guitar and did an awesome job which prompted Simon to say “You may be thanking Ellen next week for putting you in the final. That was terrific” .

Lee Dewyze : Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man”.
His performance was beyond extraordinary which pushed Ellen to say “That’s what we’re talking about—you took this thing seriously”.
Kara added “Round one goes to Lee ” and Simon revealed “I think you just crushed the other two.”

Lee Dewyze : Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”.
Kara called it “An incredible, epic moment ” and Lee might have won the competition with these two stellar performances.

It was a very entertaining night where Lee surprisingly blew the competition out of the water.
So who will make in next week’s finale? Who do want to win?
